When it comes to babies, it can be hard to know what to do for a photoshoot. But it's nice to know that there are a few tips that can help the process go SOOO much smoother!

You've had the joy of welcoming a new life into this universe. What a blessing!!! So cute and sweet. Especially while asleep! Now to capture all of that yumminess in some stunning photographs! Here are some photoshoot preparation tips to help you capture your baby angel in all his/her splendor.
1. Use a wash cloth to clean away flaky skin and eye boogers.
2. For babies with Eczema or similar, use natural moisturizers or gentle products designed for those conditions. [We're happy to give suggestions].
3. Trim those tiny fingernails and toenails with appropriate baby trimmers.
4. Try to work your shoot around your baby’s feeding and nap times. I.e. Keep with your baby's natural clock. The perfect time to shoot is right when the baby would be laying down for a nap. If your baby normally falls asleep after a feeding, wait to feed the baby until you’re at the shoot. Baby photographers allot plenty of time for this sort of thing to set up the best situation for great photos.
5. Dress up paper diapers. Cloth diapers are classy and stylish, but if you don’t use them, bring bloomers or decorative diaper covers, solids preferred.
6. There's no such thing as the perfect type of outfit – no outfit fits a newborn well, and they often look swallowed in clothes. Bring accessories like little hats, dainty headbands etc. Also bring sentimental items and pretty blankets for baby to lay on.
7. If your baby takes a pacifier, bring it – if they’re bottle fed, bring an extra bottle to help put the baby to sleep.
If you keep these tips in mind, your newborn or baby will be sure to look their best on their photo day. We'll be sure to do our part to make the process smooth and as painless as possible.
